Brand identity for an hydroponic festival
In an uncertain future in which our planet will be increasingly subject to climate change, population growth and resource scarcity, the supply of fresh water, which accounts for only 3% of the hydrosphere, is at risk. The remaining water is 97% seawater and, as such, unusable for agriculture.  But what if there was a way to harness this 97%? What if green could be brought into the water? These questions led to Mondo Fluttuante, a plant architecture festival promoting hydroponics in the sea as the agriculture of the future. This project proposes to purify and, in this way, recycle salt water into fresh water for plant growth. The foundations of this idea are the use of renewable energy and the creation of innovative architecture, such as: Jellyfish Barge, Nemo's Garden and Ocean Distiller Farm. Mondo Fluttuante thus becomes a visual story with water as its protagonist. The graphics used originate from the photographic technique of cyanotype, which consists of wetting a sheet of paper with a mixture of two iron salts, which becomes photosensitive once dry. What characterises this technique is the bright blue that the sheet takes on once immersed in water and left to float. The particular colour transitions of the resulting prints are framed by a typographic frame using the Circular font, whose circular shapes recall the concept of the world and the magnifying glass. The latter, another key element of the visual identity, through its analytical movement, investigates agricultural innovations and recalls the geometry of hydroponic architecture. In this way, Mondo Fluttuante presents itself to people as a new urban and seascape, made of plants and water, in which green merges with blue.
